"Meaning Time" is a series of still lives exploring the potency of the indexical and the potential for imaginative departure. In arranging a still life, I use a set of quotidian objects that I have collected from my surroundings. I am interested in the transformation that photography affords and how the creation of an image is the creation of another reality. Within the still life, the objects are literally and figuratively broken from their intended use. In titling the images, I have sought to find a set of words that implies a narrative open to various interpretations. I aim to create images that inspire query, curiosity, and vacillation.
